not exactly sure, it happened so fast in the opposite lane. Was in the early 80s, 911 with no wing, may have gotten scared coming over the crest of a hill when the car got light at full throttle and let of the gas, nose lifts, catches air ... saw the car doing a back flip in the rear view mirror ...

RIP to the RS passangers
similar thing happened when i was over there as a small child (early 90's), Audi Quattro going the other way flipped over the reservation and our car (mk2 passat estate) before landed on its roof on our side of the autobahn in the fast line, folks saw nothing hit it and if we'd have been going couple of mph slower it would have hit us

Hitting a tree or pole at that angle doesn't take an absurd amount of speed to cause terrible damage. You'd be surprised at the severity of the damage if you'd hit an object like that even at relatively low speeds (think 30 mph).
