^ agreed, great post. Seeing all of the engineering and design that went into the car is pretty interesting.
I'm surprised the 918 has less drag and more downforce than the GT3, in the efficiency setting. Equally as surprising is that the CGT is considerably more aerodynamic in it's "high downforce" setting than the roughly equivalent "speed" setting on the 918.

McLaren have denied it and said that it will merely go under 7:00, but I believe that it was done in the simulator and this time is their target lap time. If it's really 6s faster than the 12C GT3 around Catalunya (which might turn out to be true), then a time under 6:40 isn't impossible. We should know very soon, hopefully they will give it a go in the following few months.
