Wow, this thing looks amazing! Love the pipes, I hope they keep them.

A good close up pic of the wheel

Looks like tiny metal spokes, and that plastic shield.

^^ I wonder if the plastic shield has something to do with recuperating thermal energy from the brakes? It is a bit strange for sure...

v8 3.4l 503hp -> sound rs spyder engine in a more civilized version, the placement of the two airboxes match the car, i hope twinturbo for a road going version (permits to lower emissions lower sound ...), tuning would be awesome...

I wonder if Porsche would ever team up with Ruf to use the V8 going into the new RGT...

I have not been a fan of Porsche styling for a number of years now as they have been extremely lazy and stuck in a rut. But this car has completely changed my mind. From a looks point of view it is a stunner.

To those who have complained about the Hybrid technology you need to get your heads out of the sand. European and world wide legislation is forcing the likes of Porsche down this route, they have no choice.

The fact that they have managed get to get the performance and MPG figures from such a high performance car is outstanding; also they have kept the weight down to the same as a Ferrari 458

The word is this is the next CGT, I think it is a worthy successor and moves the game on

I respectfully & strongly disagree. Call me a caveman, but I for one would rather have this very same car not be a hybrid and powered by a more powerfull NA engine. Since "Jamie" a memeber here claims he has put a deposit down on one, I will dismiss my own predelection that this was more than a PR stunt by Porsche to appease to the hippies and the governments of the world that the hippies now control. Not that I'm knocking Porsche for going the hybrid route, since automakers around the world are tripping over themselves to be all things to all people - even those who are not their customers.

Love the 918 Spyder, and if I could afford one in the future, maybe. But my heart would still be stolen by a good old fashioned feral sounding, gas-guzzling antique.
