As many of you know GMG has become the leader in Porsche Cup car racing and prep. Last year was a break out year for us in Speed GT having won 3 races, 3 poles, 4 fastest laps of the race, rookie of the year honors and clinching the World Challenge GT manufactures championship for Porsche with the run away win at Laguna Seca finale in Oct.

We have also been actively involved in POC Club Racing for many years now, even when we ran a BMW M3 against Porsche's over 10 years ago.

Most recently POC has adopted new rules for a new class its known as the GTS or GT class and it is designed to bring in the newer 993/996 and 997 chassis cars.. Much like the NASA GTS class this class known as (GT) allows other manufactures such as BMW , Audi, Ferrari to run in the class all based on power to weight.

We had a client who was looking to get involved in racing and he decided to prep his 997GT3RS with our proven World Challenge (WC) package, throughout the course of the year as his experiance grows the car will go through a transformation from dual purpose car to more full on race car but we will maintain the ability to have the car still road worthy..

The goal is not to build a 300k -400k cup car for the street.. The goal is to have a car that is fast - fun and reliable while keeping the costs down to a reasonable $$..

If you own a newer car be it a 996c2 - 996Gt3 or any 997 this is a great way to go racing on a reasonable budget. The newer generation cars are much more reliable and with basic upgrades for safety and handling they are a ton of fun to drive and easy to live with.

I highly recommend taking a look at this class if you have a newer car and really are looking for a great dual purpose car that can be run in mutliple series..

Here are some picture of the first "training car" phase of the build. We will upgrade the car as our clients driver skills improve and he gets closer to wheel to wheel competition.

Still fitted with the 19" stock wheels, the car will be running our GMG WC-GT Mono 18's for the track 18x9 and 18x12.. These wheels save almost 10 lbs off the stock wheel weight.



Competition ride height/ corner balance and alignment done... Set up is key on these cars.





GMG WC Grille screen set installed.. This car has already been tracked prior to the installation of the screen kit. You can clearly see evidence of the abuse the ac condensors take with no protection.. It doesnt take much to puncture a $ 600.00 condensor.
Luckily this will be minimized with the grille screens installed.





GMG WC- Sport center section.. Saves 14 lbs off the rear of the car.

* Note we use the stock drop link on our sway bar kits as they are perfectly fine for this set up. In addition there is no popping noise from rod end style links.



GMG RSR Roll bar- modeled after the factory motorsport bar.
Made of 4130 chromoly tubing, fully tig welded. With special machined clamps (A GMG first on a Porsche bar) If you look at the attachment point of the main hoop to rear section you will see these. In addition our bar is bolt in and NO cutting or drilling of the car is required. Only bar on the market to offer this. You have the ability to move both seats all the way back. No other bar offers this option.



GT3 cloth seats for road and track use. Sparco competition harness for driver and passenger.

So in the end what is all this worth compared to a regular RS.

At a track like WSIR this car is about 3.5 to 4 seconds a lap faster than a compeltely stock RS. Not to mention the car is much more reponsive, compliant and much safer to drive.
