I translated what the test driver quoted, if you listen to the video at the 2 minute mark he states: "Ab dem Rückfenster ist eine komplette Eigenentwickelung". (From the rear window backwards, it is a complete in house development)
Keep in mind I don't know any details of this car, I just translated for all of you who don't speak German simply because one of the members was curious about the content of the video. (German is my first language)

[QUOTE=Chris888;529458]Hugo actually owns a CTR3, so I would expect him to be pretty well informed Thanks for the translation though.

I am happy for Hugo to own this beautiful car nonetheless I translated what the test driver said, it is either Hugo or the test driver who have the facts mixed up.

Hugo is correct and the test driver is correct also. When the test driver states that "from the rear window backwards, it is a complete in house development" that is true. Hugo is correct about the front being from the GT3. The confusion comes into play with the middle of the car because the lower cabin (doors) is 911 based but the entire greenhouse is custom (notice the extremely low roof line). The front windshield is a complete custom piece also and when I met with Mr. Ruf last March he said it was actually quite challenging to develop. Imagine the front half of a GT3 with a lower roof line mated to a completely new RUF developed rear. Mr. Ruf also said the rear cam shell was extremely difficult to develop because it is such a large piece and they wanted to make sure the gaps were perfect. With the low roof line and the beautiful mechanical whine from the sequential gearbox the driving experience is very different from any 911 series vehicle. Another note about the front is that although it is from a GT3 for crash testing reasons the suspension is actually from a company called Dynamic Suspensions that usually deals with Formula 1 and IndyCars.

Yes you are correct. I had forgotten the name of the company and referenced the December 2008 issue of Excellence Magazine and they said it was "Dynamic".....I believe they were wrong or maybe the company changed names. Thanks for the correct info.

Just possible to take some pics of the showroom.
He's right...they usually keep the really cool stuff in the back hidden somewhere. Last time I was there, they had a pristine 959 with very low miles.
