Dymag Racing UK Ltd in Bankruptcy – Machinery Available in Online Auction
It appears the motorcycle and automotive wheel manufacturer Dymag Racing UK Ltd, has gone bankrupt and the assets are currently up for auction. With so much equipment being auctioned off, it doesn't look like this is a temporary reorganization where the company gets things in order and starts over, although one never knows. Dymag is a well known name that has been producing wheels since the 1970s and produced the world's first magnesium motorcycle racing wheels. You can see all of the details of the auction and sign up online. It looks like there is quite a bit of machinery available.

Despite signs that the economy seems to be bottoming out, UK-based wheel manufacturer Dymag Racing UK, Ltd has entered into bankruptcy. What appears to be beyond just a mere restructuring, the company’s assets are being auctioned-off, placing doubts as to whether the manufacturer will continue making wheel products after the bankruptcy process concludes.
Dymag’s history dates back to the 1970’s, where it was the world’s first producer of magnesium motorcycle racing wheels. Since then, the company has branched into the composite wheel segment, providing wheel solutions to the likes of Formula 1 and WRC, in addition to a bevy of motorcycle teams.
Now finding itself at the wrong end of its creditors, Dymag finds an assortment of the company’s industrial equipment up for auction, such as its CNC turning and machining centers, general toolroom machinery, and powder coating and ink manufacturing equipment.

Great product + Limited Market + High Price + Recession = Fail. Really too bad. They made great wheels. Would be great for a larger wheel conglomerate to pick them up.
Weld Racing Wheels went out of business as well, in my opinion they made the best forged truck wheels on the market. They weren't crazy expensive either, but when you can buy decent 4x4 wheels for $130 each who would spend $400+ on wheels? Someone did buy them out, however now their product offering is very limited.

The fact is the wheels had far too much negative publicity among forums regarding the usability for DD'ing. With that out of the window their customers were only the hardcore willing to risk a chip / cracked rim on the street or for track use only.
Those facts + what Robert said regarding the recession and their high prices created a failure that i would say was inevitable.
