Wow, that guy is quite a nerd. That being said, and the fact that I haven't touched an XBOX in 4 years, that gaming set up was amazing. Those screens, speakers, chair and pedals were awesome. Too bad there was a clutch but no gear box...

On 24 October 2007 it was announced that the PlayStation 3 game, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, will be able to download episodes of Top Gear within the game, and that the test track will be one of the included circuits when the full game (Gran Turismo 5) is released.[52][53] A very basic yet driveable version of the track appeared around 2003 for the PC hardcore racing simulation Grand Prix Legends. There's also a version of the test track for the realistic PC racing simulation rFactor, produced with permission from Dunsfold park.[54] Top Gear have also added a basic version of the test track on the games section of their own website, with the title of "Be a star in our reasonably priced car". A Top Gear mobile phone game also features the track.
Edit: Yes I'm aware that it's wikipedia, but still. It would be awesome if you were able to download the Top Gear track in GT5.

couldn't agree more..
I played the game. One thing i didn't like is that some cars in reality come in manual only like the GT2, GT3 etc and still you can drive them in the game with automatic transmission and the opposite like some mercs.

that irritating geek aside (though i admit i'm a geek myself,) if you haven't yet tried one of the current generation of hardcore driving sims, they really are very impressive.
i've been driving on the Nurburgring in both Forza 3 (game in above video) and GTR Evolution on the PC, and it really does capture much of the feel of really being there.
i haven't come anywhere close to the real world times of the cars in the game, so that says a lot to me. to keep things realistic, if i have any off-track excursion in the games, then the lap doesn't count. i figure if i were doing that in my real car, i'd have pulled off the track to inspect damage and kick myself!
