GT3 vs RS

The regular GT3 already has a pretty garish wing to start with so it's not like the CF one on the RS is that much crazier. If you're considering the GT3 or RS in the first place, you most likely don't give a hoot about how bold of a statement the car makes. If you want to drive around town without people staring, get a CL63. Oh wait....

I'd personally get a brand new TT for the street and the GT3RS for the track. I just don't like the gaudy wings; for the track is one thing, but in public, no thanks. It all comes down to preference.

I prefer the GT3 over the RS in 997.2 guise. In 997.1, I'd like a green RS please.
It's a matter of preference. I don't drive my 911 every day, so a nice, zingy GT3 would be more fun to me than a Turbo. The Turbo would be better as a DD though.

I think the GT3 looks like a "normal" 911 to most people; the biggest differentiation Joe and Janie six pack might make would be "regular" 911 and "turbo" 911, with any finer gradation drawing a blank stare, save for the RS, which stands out because of the bright and contrasting color schemes (both .1 and .2), which they might look down on as fast 'n' furious, if you care about such things.

Here's the difference: there is a REAL difference between riding in a car, looking at great pictures of a car, wanting a car AND owning a car. I think the best advice for the OP can come from those that have owned the "racing" variants of a particular car and what their experience was like. I don't agree with calling people "sissies" just because they owned the car, found it to be too extreme for their tastes, and then sold it. Likewise, the price difference is not justified. This is the type of feedback the OP is looking for, IMO.

That still doesn't change the fact that I felt the GT3 RS was plenty supple enough to be comfortable as a DD and it didn't leave me wanting for any creature comforts.
