GT2 RS Rumors/truths 550+ bhp PDK ?

Good timing on this thread. Im friends with a gentleman who has a 997 GT2 here in South Africa, don't know how many there are in the country but Im guessing there aren't more than a handful. Anyway just a couple days ago I was chatting to him about the possibility of a GT2 RS and if he would get one. He said that until a couple of weeks ago, he had a deposit down for one with Porsche SA, but Porsche SA had just now refunded his deposit saying the car wasn't going to materialize. So at least from Porsche SA's point of view there isn't going to be one otherwise if there was a chance, I couldn't see them refunding a deposit.

You don't need a 600+ hp Porsche to shred a Gallardo.

I am assuming you haven't seen the vids/times of a GT2 vs a 560?
Here is one. Top Gear did another.
YouTube - HD : Lamborghini LP560-4 vs Porsche 997 GT2 stock to 200 mph

Designed to meet the challenges of motorsport, some vehicles are simply made for the track – these include models like the Porsche Carrera GT and road-legal racecars such as the 911 GT3, GT3 RS, GT2, GT2 RS and GT2 CS. If you own one of these vehicles, this special training course is the one for you. Wow, that's a fab confirmation so now we have to wait the final specs.
