GT2 RS Rumors/truths 550+ bhp PDK ?

It is overpriced.
Price the GT2 at 20K above a GT3, and there will be a lot more takers, and the resale probably won't suck so bad like it did in the 996 GT2.

I wish Porsche was going to make the GT2rs but I dout it with the poor sales of the 977GT2 and with the new 997.2 GT3 rs coming out soon. Porsches needs to step up the GT2 no matter what seeing how the new Turbo is putting up pretty good numbers for half the price.

Just like the Cayman S. People who are shelling out 65k for a cayman could and can easily afford a 997. The car isn't bad, it's just missing a larger percieved value. Buyers see MORE value in the 997 over the Cayman S. Same goes with the GT3 vs GT3rs and GT2.
GT2 should be skipped this time around. Especially if they're thinking of making a Turbo S.
GT2 is a special car and as such should demand a premium over a Turbo. The sad fact is; there really isnt a proper market for the car here in the States. If we had the Ring in our backyards on the other hand....
Then yes, the GT2 would be a monster seller.

I mean, with 996 GT2, they took a bunch of stuff out, tune the engine a little, and charge 80K premium over the Turbo, that is what killed the car.
If they had charged 150K for the 996 GT2 new, for sure they would have sold a lot more than 300 copies in the U.S.
The GT2 needs to be priced near the top of the line GT cars.
And now that they stuck traction control in the GT2, it is not that much more of a monster car any more. part of the reputation that the GT2 had was that it was supposed to kill you if you didn't know your driving from a hole on the ground. Just look at how many 996 GT2's were crashed.
Now that that's no longer a problem, it is being looked at as a really expensive Turbo.
Price it at 150K new, and Porsche will double their sales overnight.
Although, weren't there rumors about how they couldn't get decent power out of the new wet sumper A91 by turboing it?

Not sure of that rumor.
But what you said makes my point even stronger. My theory is that a higher % of Porsche owners actually DRIVE their cars then say, Ferrari owners. I'm not speaking about ability. I'm speaking about how many owners actually DRIVE the cars.....
You'll bump into a higher % of 996/996 GT3/RS peeps who take their car on the track then 360/430 owners will. Even Scud owners.
With Porsche, it's always been about total value. More potential buyers see MORE value in the RS or GT3 versus GT2. Thinking they'll actually drive it on the track.
