2010 GT3.2 owners

I am ordering a 2010 GT3 but I am so confused about ticking the PCCB option. Read a lot of debates on all the forums but can not seem to find the right answer. Anyone with first hand experience with both PCCB and steel care to help me out

How do you plan on driving the car? If it is a road car both options are great. If it is a track car, steel is recommended. We are retrofitting steel brakes to a PCCB car right now at the shop. Welcome, btw.

Thanks Casey,
I intend to be hard on the brakes
Is the car you are retrofitting a 2010 GT3? How many kms did it take him to destroy the PCCbs?

thx

I'd do it for the weight savings alone.

I think you'd have a hard time overheating the steels on the road. And, the replacement cost of a rotor in the event of say, a run off into the gravel at the track, wouldn't be fun.

Sure would suck not to have any brakes at all.

That's easy to say when it's someone else's car or on a configurator, but it's a totally different matter when you've got to fork over the $9K for them, plus the $4K PER ROTOR if one cracks (it happens), etc.

Personally, I know too many guys who are hardcore track nuts that swap to steel ASAP (if they even bother w/PCCB in the first place). If you search other Porsche-specific sites, the only guys buying PCCBs are folks who aren't tracking the car and/or don't want brake dust.

My fat ass could lose 40lbs easier than spending nearly $10K after taxes on PCCBs when the stock brakes are phenomenal...

So I say go BIG RED.

Brembo or AP aftermarket kit and be done with it IMO.
