SharkWerks / EVOMS 8800 RPM 3.9L 502 HP Engine Upgrade
#31
Three:P And 1-2 more in Jan.
Sorry 'bout that. I am from the UK but.. There's actually a couple of options on this... 1)Motor can be shipped and 2) with EVOMS help we're likely setting something up in the UK for Europeans

Thanks for all the interest, support and encouragement during this entire process guys... It's officially released now
I know there are a lot of Excellence Magazine readers here and some may have already seen it and ours just came in today. The latest issue (April 2010) features a familiar face on its cover:
With minor revisions to the graphics and a new set of wheels, ZKERMIT is back with its 500-HP, SharkWerks-built 3.9L motor to run alongside a red 2010 GT3 (this car may also look familiar, as it's owned by a SharkWerks customer and is featured in our project gallery here).
The article covers the editor's 1000 mile road trip in our car, through the finest backroads and hills to be found in the northern California coastal area.
Be sure to look for this issue at news stands and bookstores for all the high quality photos and some other good articles.
The article can be previewed by following this link. More information is available in our 3.9L product page here.
In case anyone wanted to see how the car looks with its new image, here's a quick video:

Hey guys,
It's been a while since we updated this thread, so I thought I would post some new pictures.
We now have a few more 3.9L motor upgrades in progress. Our 996 GT3 was started, but with customer cars coming in, it took the back burner and will probably be completed some time later this month.
The current focus for James is completing two customer 3.9L 997 GT3s. Both happen to be white non-RS models.
So many white cars!
First up, the domestic GT3 shipped to us from southern California:
Bumper removed:
And more:
A void in the engine bay:
Ah, there it is:
Coming apart:
Old pistons/hardware:
New EVO studs:
Coming together:
Shiny horsepower:
SharkWerks/EVOMS 3.9L spec camshafts being prepared for installation:
Cam timing:
And it's almost done being re-assembled... then it will need to be installed, tuned and tested extensively prior to delivery.
I mentioned there were other 3.9L cars at our shop. The other 997 GT3 shipped to us all the way from Quebec, Canada for the upgrade.
Here it is, parked next to another Canadian car, a 997 Turbo:
It's interesting that we actually have yet another 997 Turbo (cabriolet) here from Canada that will be shipping back this week.
And before it has a chance to begin surgery, another 2010 997.2 GT3 rolls-up for a quick update:
Disassembly begins:
Motor removed:
A regular track junkie, he asks us to rebuild his LSD with Guard:
With all of the parts ready, James continues to assemble motors into the night...
More pictures and video to follow soon. Thanks for reading.

So with the cam timing done...
[
The rest of the engine is assembled and goes back in the car. The final touches include our exhaust (and tips) along with the 91 octane EVOMSit tune and she's ready to rumble or be broken in as another SW 3.9L is born:
We also added the gt3 radiator screen kit for protection:
With a couple of hundred break-in specific miles done we did the first oil change and now she's ready to be picked up and back off down to the Los Angeles area
I'm going to the airport to pick him up in Kermit too
The Canadian car is a couple of weeks away from being picked up but I'm especially interested to see how much of a difference there is from the LSD work performed by Guard. As a company I can't say enough good things about them. In fact, our 996 GT3 diff is over there right now
