GTR vs new GT3

Correct...
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse about Porsche vs Nissan at the ring, I'm only pointing out that it's odd - to me - that one of the "Nurburgring experts" is ~12 seconds off of Nissan's own hired gun who I'm certain has far fewer laps at the track.

I really think this whole GT-R/GT3 feud or the whole Porsche v. Nissan feud is absolutely pointless (but is great marketing for Nissan). The GT-R and the GT3 are cars for different people. I've driven a 997.1 GT3 and a GT-R and they're both extremely impressive. In fact the most g-force I've ever felt was when riding shotgun in a GT-R with slicks.
However, the GT3 is more my taste b/c when you figure the car out and begin to get it right its more rewarding to drive. The GT-R on the other hand is a vehicle that anyone can drive, literally, you could throw the thing into a turn meters after the apex point and that trick AWD system will figure it out and make you fast.
My flame suit is all zipped, but so you guys know I'm not knocking the GT-R at all b/c for some it is the ultimate. In fact for the money, I can't think of a more impressive machine (unless you're a skilled driver and want to blast around a track in a Exige S).
I do want a quote from Her Horst stating which car he enjoyed more.

The GTR has everything under $100k beat. I'm a fan of both the gtr and gt3, and having driven neither, I simply prefer the gtr right now because its a bit more practical.. you know, it has a trunk

I just found this thread again,as I was searching for topics on the GTR
I just don`t get it why so many P-car drivers hate GTRs and vice versa...
not particularly at this forum, but at other places there were "wars" going on..
I personally love the GTR...
but I also do love Porsches!
I may in fact choose a 911 GT3 or Turbo over the GTR,just because you I could "love" a Porsche...loving the lines, the history, the german engineering, the feeling of having "made it" to the upper ranks etc.
But I could just love a GTR like I`d love my Iphone or some other sweet gadget
still both would give you one hell of a good ride....
it`s just like it is with women...
you just can`t manifest that blondes are better than brunettes..it`s a matter of personal taste
