It's got the same M64 engine since eons ago, so the drive train is pretty bullet proof.
The car died on me once when it lost the clutch pedal. But that's the general defect of the 996 with exposed clutch line. So if you run over something sharp or kick up something sharp enough to cut the exposed clutch line, you will experience the disturbing clutch pedal not returning up when you press down to change gear.
