The new rear end looks great and I love the thought losing some weight. HOWEVER, I dearly hope you never get rear ended - those extra 8 lbs. might be the difference between minor and major damage.

Awesome write up and pics. Pretty odd that there aren't any cut-outs in the US brace, apart from the two bumps and the location of the tow-hitch-hole it's the same design right?

Don't be fool by those two small US spec bumperetts. It was design to reduce damage to the rear end at speed <5 mph to satisfy lawyer and insurance company. It does nothing let's say if you get rear ended at 35 mph - both US and Euro versions will be crunched

The aluminum bumper brace design is the same except Euro version has more cut out on the back to save weight and tow hook opening move to the right for ease of access
