GT2 RS is a little redundant in my book...

I hope Porsche builds it. Why would any so called "car enthusiast" not want them to?

With the way the world is going, shouldn't car enthusiasts help support car manufacturers who build these types of machines?

A Porsche-Mechanic here in Sweden has confirmed that this GT2RS is being released, and that very soon.

I would think they'd wait until the GT-R V-spec was launched, just to be sure it's quicker. I know, in theory they're not competitors, and a GT2RS would better be compared against the Scuderia, but the people have spoken, and the GT-R is in the same company as the elites, regardless of whom that offends.

Turbo4ever is an unknown quantity at this point
Great news. But I doubt the weight saving will be that much. 100KG less than current GT2? 997GT3RS only 20KG less than the GT3.

Why wait to release it? It's already been proven that the V-Spec is slower than regular GT-R.

I can't say for certain if it's any faster or slower around the Nurburgring but initial reports I've heard so far indicate it's no faster than the regular GT-Rs and might actually be a bit slower. I'm really not sure what to make of that though given it's a bit lighter than the standard car but has the same horsepower. Either way, I'm sure if a GT2RS were to come along, it would blow the Spec-V out of the water.
