A nice fall drive...

Jim,
I didn't know you were sporting a camera! You and I could have done a lead-follow with the Scuderia. Great weekend. Thanks for sharing the videos. I noticed you tracked the cabriolet. Did you shoot any open air video?
Observation: There are many lines through the carousel; next time, try straddling the pavement line -- about 1 1/2 car widths left of where you're taking it now. With the larger radius, you can carry a little more speed. Then turn in just as you can see the rumple strip on the apex. Just a thought, as it works better for me.
Great meeting you guys.

I would have loved to have done a lead-follow with your yellow scud, would have made for an epic video! Your car sounded great!
I hear you on your line on the carosel, I used to take a similar approach, but the instructor we were with suggested I try the inside line and it seemed to work for me. My lap times were much better this year than last, but probably most of that is from me getting more used to that track in general.
Thanks again, it was nice hanging out with you.

My passengers were reporting 156-158 at the end of the main straight looking at my gauges, but I don't typically have time to watch the speedo.

I've loved every Porsche I've owned, but the GT3 and the mkII 997 Cab are different beasts. The cab is like a luxury car with all its options. For instance it was hot that day on the track, and even though I had the top down I had the vented seats on, it felt great, and had the XM radio pumping the BPM station... it was kinda fun. The cab was very capable on the track too, but I wouldn't normally use it for that. The GT3 is a pure sportscar, although it is very good on the street, it comes alive on the race track.
It was nice cruising the trip from Chicago to Elkhart Lake, WI in the cab too, nice drive.
