2013 Mercedes-Benz SL Catalog pics leaked

Expected to be unveiled publicly at next month's Detroit Auto show, we have been sent a few cell phone snapped images from the of catalog of the next generation Mercedes-Benz SL, and it looks ptretty good so far.

The current model SL has been around since 2001 and has received a face-lifts in 2006 and 2008. The 2013 Mercedes SL will features a sharper, more upright nose, making it more similar to the front of the new SLK and CL models. The new roadster will be larger, but weigh less then the outgoing SL thanks to its new aluminum body that reduces weight by more than 100kg.

We have been informed the new SL roadster will be powered by a new twin-turbo V8 engine. This 4.7 liter engine provides 435 horsepower. In addition there will be a V6 and there still maybe a possibility of V12, even though earlier reports suggest Mercedes will be ditching he V12 engine all together. The SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG are in the works as well.

Kind of glad we have the SL65 black series cause it's still way nice than this new model! I won't have to feel like I'm driving an old car!

well...gotta say looking better then had anticipated...the BS will be NUTS...as per usual

 

soooooo true. they have gotten progressively worse.

they really destroy the lines of the car.

the look of the whole car isnt that bad, but now the slk and sl are trying to look to much like the sls.

I understand the idea of having some central theme or bs, but the SL was always such a good looking car.

best hardtop convertible ever.

 

The front looks good, it has way more class than the current SL.

 

That headlight does not fit the rest of the car at all.

Not a huge fan. It's getting to bloated.
