One of my friends had his 745i seat heater badly burn his son. I believe it settled out of court.

The guy is a douche bag for not taking the M5 or the 760. He should be offered nothing, he carelessly left the window open. Electronics are not made to come into contact with water, when they do shit happens...

While It's second nature to look into getting some money out of such things, I find it quite hard to believe that a person would actually allow themselves to be badly burned by a seat heater. You feel it burning, you shut it off, you feel it burning, you immediately pull over and get out. Unless the seat caught fire in seconds and you were unable to escape the gigantic flames in time then I don't see how it would be a possibility.
