I second that.

Haha..what a damn joke..
Is this what they came up with after 7 damn years? it looks like a facelift.
And it looks like a 3er, which in turns look like a 5er..
And that interior is a joke, i mean subtle luxury in all honor, but that is a joke. To much like the rest of the line up, and they want people to pay 100K plus for this ?
Hell atleast the Benz is unique in its interior compared to the rest of the line up.
This car will last another 7 years thats damn near 2022..imagine that! It looks old right now, and the 7er is supposed to set the tone for the whole brand.
looks like a rough years ahead for BMW if they call this progress, and i expect major facelifts if they want to compete for sales.
Which given their track record won't happen.
So dull .. so so dull..

The design is more evolutionary than revolutionary. I'm fine by that. However, there are a few points that need to mentioned. The new 7 will be lighter, more efficient that its predecessor. Also, it is said that BMW would be using CRPF (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) on the new 7, the same material they use on the i8.
As far as the looks of the 3er, 5er are concerned and in their defence, just look at the Audi line up- all are redesigned Volkswagens

True. It is for those who prefer luxury more than performance, which somehow makes the S500, S63 and S65 models less relevant.

there will always be fanboys or people that prefer one make.. and that is fine by me but hating or thrashing is something that i don't understand.

i think we all need to wait till official release, proper comparisons tests and then we can discuss which it better in anyway.. talking of a bunch of crap pics isn't worth it.

So, an S63 AMG goes from 0-60 mph in 3.7 sec. Does the guy sitting in the back seat getting a thai massage for free really care?

Well, I am sort of with you on that. The Merc S Class is certainly miles ahead of its competition and it has been throughout history. The Audi A8 and BMW 7-Series are built to eat into the S-Class' market.

Also in a luxury limo like this no one cares if there is CRPF used or magnesium or aluminum, as long as its lighter. hell they don't even care if its lighter, just better economy..which is linked to those other things.
Agreed on the Audis though, its been like that for ages, you go in to an Audi dealer and ask for Meters of Audi rather than a model. Its like buying fabric.
(R8 not included)
I also understand those who don't like the S classes super flashy style, (which can be subdued by selecting the right options and combos) so subtle luxury in all honor. But god damn you can make subtle and new. Subitility and elegance does not have to be bounded to old design.
For eg look at the new Volvo XC90, very elegant and subdued, and also at the same time a never seen design language for the brand.
So i think it is a bad excuse, and an easy way out to call it subdued, when its infact a piss poor effort given the 7 years of development and design, along with the 100K plus asking price.
PS
We can wait for the official pictures. Not that it will help much. Everything is to be seen before your eyes.

^ i can't understand why u are so aggressive. its about cars and this is not the only forum u do this on.. all the arguments u got go the same way for "your brand" looking the same etc etc

Adress me in the forum i write. Which is here.
Come back with something that has to do with the issue at hand and not me as a person. I don't discuss you or even know you. This is about cars as you said not about people.
PS
Please enlighten me what in the XC90 interior is from past Volvos. I must have missed it.
