So on december 18th I ordered a 2012 BMW 640i from my local BMW dealer and i was told 6-8 weeks till the car is in my possession. I still had a car a that point and then I was going on vacation so I didn't really need a car. On dec 19th I texted him asking if the car was officially ordered and I was told yes. I just got back from vacation and I figured 23 days have gone by and I don't have that much longer to wait, only about 2-4 weeks. Now he tells me (after I had to call him) that he couldn't find an allocation for the car and that it still hasn't been ordered yet.

I'm furious to say the least and I don't have a car and do not think I can go another 6-8 weeks without a car if I do have to wait. I'm getting a good price and it's been locked in. So if I pull out of the deal I loose the car at that price.

So I'm thinking maybe the dealer just doesn't want to give me the car at that price anymore?

Or they are giving your allocation to a higher paying customer. Go to a different dealer.

695 a month with 4300 total due at signing for 36 months with 10,000 miles a year on a 640i with a 76,295msrp.

I really like my new BMW dealer both sales and service, and I never thought that was possible.

 

It sounds like this dealer has no intention of honoring that price either...

Nothing to lose by inquiring elsewhere.
