Styling/Aerodynamics:
- Both 135i and 128i coupe and convertible receive updated headlight and tail light clusters. Tail lights feature updated LED light bars consistent with newest BMW models. Headlights feature new "eyebrows" styling component.
- Convertible top available in optional Moonlight Black material with interwoven shiny metallic fibers for metallic silver appearance in sunlight
- New Gloss White interior trim available for 2012 models
- 128i front fascia now includes BMW's Air Curtain aerodynamic design which improves air flow around the front wheel arches with the benefit of significantly reduced turbulence
- Consists of openings in the outer section of the lower front fascia that route high-pressure air through ducts at each front corner. The ducts are approximately 10 x 3 centimeters wide and are designed to channel air to openings at the front of each wheel arch, where it is discharged through a very narrow opening at high speed. The escaping air stream covers the side of the front wheels like a curtain, thereby reducing aerodynamically unfavorable turbulence around the rotating wheels.
- 128i Coupe can also be equipped with special Aero Wheels to further enhance the performance of the Air Curtain system
- 135i powered by 300hp 3.0L single, twin-scroll turbocharged N55 motor
- 128i powered by 230hp 3.0L 230hp inline 6
- 135i can be equipped with 7-speed DCT (good for 0-60 in 5.0 sec)
- New rear differential with a new generation of final drives optimized for running smoothness and fuel efficiency
- BMW ConnectedDrive with Blackberry Smart Phone Integration, iPod/USB Adaptar, and Extended Bluetooth
- First BMW models in the BMW range to enable in-car access to facebook, twitter and webradio
