Post AutoExpress Renderings: 2012 BMW 3 Series and 2014 BMW M3

Our friends at BMWblog tell us that AutoExpress dedicates several pages in their print edition to the next generation F30 BMW 3 Series and the F32 BMW M3. The next generation BMW 3 Series is due out in 2012 and it is built on a new modular platform. The F30 3 Series models return to the “slimmer look”, dynamic lines with squat proportions and short rear overhangs. As seen in the renderings below, the typical proportions of a 3 Series remain, but the exterior design is more toned and muscular, bringing some the aggressiveness and design lines seen in the recent models, including the F10 5 Series.

I dont like how the next M3 will have the 5 series GT look from the front.

Honestly I'm a little surprised at this..hasn't BMW always kept the headlights different between the 4 door sedan and 2 door coupes? They look identical here.

Wasn't the E46 pretty much the same except maybe the last few years? And E90 M3 sedan shares the E92 headlights?

I am more surprised at the chrome window trim on the M3. Top half looks like an E92 non-M.

Actually I think the E46 had different headlights between the coupe and sedan.

Unfortunate, but economics trumps aesthetics once again.

i think the new m3 is gonna be super expensive, and i think the current one is a tad bit overpriced as well, then again i haven't driven one but i'll leave that to you guys to decide..... really looking forward to the new m6 though!
