BMW Classic rises in a trade with the classics.

Munich. BMW Classic offers the first classic BMW cars for sale. A BMW M1 and a BMW 3.0 CSL will be auctioned by auction house Bonhams in October in Dubai. The two rarities are from the plant's own collection and are among the icons of the BMW automotive history.

With the sale of classic cars Classic BMW makes the next step in its reorientation towards customer service. Restored after the enlargement of the historical workshop on the BMW Classic Center, the customer vehicles, now being added all the divisions of "buying and selling of classics are just as much as teaching of classics and purchase advice to our new offers," says Karl Baumer, Director of BMW Classic. "The auction of the two vehicles is our first step in that direction." Both the BMW M1 and the BMW 3.0 CSL are from the 1990s, owned by BMW Classic and important cars in the BMW mobile tradition. These particular cars were gradually restored and shown at special events such as the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in public.

The auction of the vehicles by Bonhams in Dubai represents the first time ever that a vehicle from the factory collection has been put up for sale. "I am convinced that both the site and its partner have made the right choice for this premiere," says Baumer. More BMW classic purchases and sales will follow. "The documentation of BMW history and our operational capability at events is of course the focus of our collection strategy, but we also want to create in the future an opportunity for friends of the brand an opportunity to purchase BMW classic cars directly from the manufacturers," explained Ralf Quad, General Manager Sales and After Sales at BMW Classic. "Simultaneously, we are strengthening our presence in the Middle East - a region which we view with a lot of potential." Quad further states.

I wouldn't mind either in my garage. I actually have a friend who might be interested in one of these... He loves white BMWs.

 

GM did this as well.

 

Ill settle for the CSL personally since its the best looking of the two. M1 looks god awefully terrible...
