Unveiled: 5-Series Gran Turismo

Part of the reasoning allegedly is that SUV's aren't really as socially acceptable nor as desireable right now as they used to be, but estate cars are. With this, you get some of the seating and interior room benefits of an suv in something more reminiscent of a regular estate. A car for the times, I suppose.

In the same issue of Car as I've previously mentioned, there's also an editorial by one of the staff writers who's long-terming an X6, and he calls himself "The most hated man in Britain", seeing as the X6 is "not a car for 'now', and the British public hates it".
I think we're encountering a schizm between the TeamSpeeders (enthusiasts) and the public at large. We might not consider the X6 an SUV, but the general public could very well conceive it as very offensive vehicle. Keyword being conceive; nothing to do with actual properties. Absolutely no offense to you, Mr. Kram.
Hope the above makes sense.
