WTF! 1400 bucks for the E30 dash!?
OK, come on. 1400 bucks!?
As many of you know, I am doing a restoration project, and I am converting the interior from red to black.
I got nice new heated front seats.
Great condition rear seats.
New black carpet.
New rear decklid with sunblind never available in the U.S.
They were all pretty reasonably priced.
Then I come to the dash, which would make the mrs really happy because the current one has about 10 cracks on it.
Apparently between last year and this year, dealers in LA decided that they want to charge you double the price of realoem.com.
If anyone knows of a good place to get a new BMW E30 dash that can ship to LA, please let me know.

I'm at the yard quite frequently here, and there are a few E30s, but I can't promise great things. Those get smacked around pretty good as a rule (ie stripped quickly), and these have been here for a bit. Plus, shipping, would absolutely kill cross-country. Still . . . I'll have a look next week for you.

I am looking to get new because of the material change.
I guess I should have done it last year when most dealers in LA were asking 600 bucks for one.

Is it the new material dash, or the old one?
I am only interested in the new material which is like the E36.
BMW changed the material after getting complaints about the lack of durability of the original vinyl dash.

These new kinds are worth a lot of money right now. One sold for over 600 bucks on bimmerforums.
I was able to find one with the help of my friend on another board for 800 bucks, so I am buying it.
