Learning Manual
#11
As everyone said, its about repeating the process until you get it smooth. I started the same way, until once we went with my family in a vacation trip in the car and I had the chance to drive a lot in low speed situations and there I learnt to get the clutch release smooth! But to sum up, yes, its about repeating!

You'll get there man-
It's easier than you think but the challenge comes in driving smoothly...when I say smooth I mean your girl in the passenger seat will not get her head jerked back and forth and shifts are as smooth as an automatic.
The real fun comes when you learn heel-toe downshifts and then take those skills to the track!

Congratulations! Learning to drive a stick and row your own gears should be a prerequisite for manhood.
Like everyone says, just practice. Eventually you'll get the sense of when the clutch "grabs" and how to smoothly apply the throttle without stalling.
The 1st time I tried to drive a clutch, I lurched my buddy's Supra so badly I curbed his wheels...
But, the 1st time you perfectly rev match a downshift or execute a perfectly rev matched heel-toe downshift...you have started down the road of motoring nirvana...

^^That's a very good idea, it would also force people to know how a transmission works, something you'd want people you're sharing the road with to understand.

Funny topic to a non American..
You couldn't have a license here if you can't drive manual
Now you can.. But then you only allowed to drive AT cars..
Anyway let the clutch grab before you apply power.. Please don't rev it up with a pressed clutch.. That's so sad

Yeah I heard you guys get AT Only on your license if you take the test in an auto? Here in the good old US of A, an MT can actually be considered an anti-theft device to an extent.

Of course, that's the theory I used when I first started, thus curbing my buddy's wheels...but, it didn't stall!

Good tips, and to answer beforehand Chris, yes it is a lot different than the 12 speed on my bike.
