I'd be willing to bet BBS or HRE wouldn't pay for damages to the car...

Unfortunate event, but probably could have been prevented.
You have got to be joking. This manufacturer clearly doesn't stand behind their product and while you could argue that you should be inspecting every aspect of a car before taking it to a track, the fact of the matter is that an instance like this should NEVER occur. How many racing teams do you think inspect their rims before a race? I'm sure it's very few. I know a race team that runs a Porsche in the Rolex series and they run BBS rims....they never inspect because they never have problems. If this company advertised these as track and street ready, he shouldn't have to worry about his aluminum rim breaking into pieces.

I'm sure this is the owner of COR desperately trying to grasp onto his small customer base and keep them...this is pathetic.

I truly wish the driver/owner well. Glad to hear that the shop he used was outstanding and showed what true customer service looks like. Very impressed with that shop.

I will have to second this though....I doubt any company is going to pay for body damage or brake system damage that resulted from an incident like this, on a track or not.

Well no one in the Rolex series does and they all use BBS rims, so I'm not sure what teams you are referring to as "most", but I've never experienced a racing team inspecting or xraying rims before their races, ever.

Rims that are advertised for track use, shouldn't ever need to be inspected on a vehicle like this IMO.

Maybe I should of rephrased that statement to "Road Car Race Teams". I can certainly see professional racing teams inspecting wheels, but as far as racing teams running road cars in series like the Rolex series (not F1, IndyCar, Nascar, GT1, GT2, etc.), there shouldn't be any need to inspect with the quality of wheels that they are using.

I think you need to talk to more race teams. I know of a more then a few (i've never actually heard of a team at least visually inspecting wheels before a race). I use to to be a rep for a tire company that was the spec tire for a few series and this was actually pretty common.

Hm well that's new to me, but I've been wrong many times before. Either way, I find this situation unacceptable IMO
