Best DD under $20k
#51
Hey guys, haven't been on here in a few weeks but I was just having an argument with a buddy of mine about what car would be best to buy (new/used) under $20k as a daily driver.
So what do you guys think? Best can mean whatever you want it to mean btw. It could mean: most luxurious, best-handling, most powerful, most reliable, etc.
Have fun.

BMW M3s, Evos, WRX's, S2000s , they have most likely been abused.
IMO those should be bought brand new or with low mileage.
I've had a B7 S4, B7 RS4, an A3 2.0T and an A3 TDI - none have had problems. Justin's S4 was definitely a lemon. Very unfortunate. VW is also considered a "bad quality" brand, but I've found that everyone with problems had Mexican-built VWs. All the German cars seem solid... (Two GTIs, Golf R, and a '72 Bug for me)
That's not when problems arise.

How about we think of some ideas for the most luxurious car under $20k because most/all of the examples so far have been pretty much performance cars. What do you guys think?

Ced - Of course they were new. What am I, poor?
J/K - I've wised up and started letting others eat the depreciation.

Actually I just found a 2004 A8L w/ 60k miles for $19k. How reliable are these? I would actually consider getting one if they had a respectable reliability record.
It's got AWD, luxury, and style. Everything I could pretty much hope for in a car under $20k in Chicago.
