Question Thoughts on the Grand Cherokee

What are your thoughts on the 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland 4X4???
My FJ's half doors are just not cutting it anymore and looking for a four door SUV to replace it (something below 50k)... the wify will be using it as well so it needs to be reasonable in size

I like the V6 VW Touareg but for the same price I can get a fully loaded Grand Cherokee
I have a friend that bought one a few months back and he is very happy with it...

I like the new Grand Cherokees a lot. The interior is a major upgrade from the older ones and they drive a lot better as well imo. I say go for it.

I'm a huge fan of the new Jeeps. I'd go Jeep over the FJ all day.

I say go for it. Jeep did a great job on the remodel, especially on the interior

I think the Jeep will be a lot better equipped than the Toe-rag for the price. I'd go with the Jeep too.

^^ This. Got one for my 78-year-old Dad when they came out. Granted, he's hard on a truck. But it's just been a series of little things since Day One. I would love to say otherwise, but it just reinforces every stereotype of poor American automotive build quality.

Unlike my Toyota Land Cruisers, which never, ever go to the shop for anything. My last one, a 2008, I put 83,000 miles on, changed the oil every 5,000 miles, and literally never met the service guys. Not one knob or rattle. Nothing. Same for my new one, a 2011, which has 30,000 miles on it so far, including a fair amount offroad. Perfect.

The Jeep is the polar opposite of this.
