Hi,
Australian law prohibits probationary drivers from anything but NA's - SOME turbo diesel commercials are allowed though, if for trade purposes.
Last honest response I can give, you are twelve. You seem to love your cars, and obviously your Dad is in support. I would think about you two getting a project car, something simple. You could grab it well before getting your licence, swing spanners with your old man and have a real sense of accomplishment on the vehicle, having it ready for your L's phase.
There's two reasons I like this idea. First - swinging spanners with the old man is always rewarding.
Secondly, you will have poured so much time, work and love into the car that you will respect her and treat her like your favourite pet.
Actually there's three reasons... if you pick something that's starting to become a retro classic now, in five years time it'll be an absolute diamond.
Also, you might want to have a ride in a well sorted Bolwell Nagari before ragging on them!
Cheers,
Nik

Hi,
If you've learned how to weld, solder, grind, and have $40K to spend on your first car, I'm sure you can master the search tool in the link I provided.
You are looking at $40K cars - Bolwell is obtainable. Especially considering you can only have a sixer.
C'mon son.
Cheers,
Nik
