Want a commuter car

Is the MB E350 with an AMG-package? They look good.

Bingo!
We're all car guys and have been in that situation but lets face it - you should stick with what you've got.
Otherwise lease a 7 series and go for an actual cushy ride, the 335 is a great DD but too small (i had one) and not much bigger than what you've got. E-class is a nice option but Bimmers handle far better.

It has the sport pkg as a no cost option but not AMG sport pkg.
And no AMG handling either. Drove my friends 2011 E63AMG it was crazy fast for a sedan and sounded great. I could get almost
20k off sticker on them now since the new/better ones are here, but the gas mileage is worse then my CTT

So need to be around 600 to 700/mo and very little down payment. The practical thing to do is to just get a Prius, I am trying to find something I can live with a year or 2 that wont kill my soul.
The main reason I am leaning more towards the 350bluetec over the 335d is that the lease is only 24months on the bluetec compared to 36month for the 335d and the payments are the same.
Its because the bluetec has a 75%residual after 24months.

What???
Never heard of such practicality on a car forum. You are right that would be the right thing to do, but as a car enthusiast I would have as many cars as I could afford and store. Obviously I will make sure that extra cars will not affect my lifestyle or ability to do anything that will cost money.
If we are really getting practical then the first car that should go is the GT2 since it is a very expensive car that has no practicality at all, it just puts a big fat smile on my face and gets my heart rate going. The CTT is an amazing SUV/family hauler that nothing can compare to. And the minivan is just so perfect for so many scenarios when hauling little kids around. Trust me I want to get rid of it, but when I think of all that we use it for, we will keep it till the kids are more grown.
