Nice car, love the looks, but here in the netherlands a tweaked GTI already costs 47.000 euro (67.000 dollar). So I wonder what they want for the new R

Would not want to be found dead in a Golf R in Holland. The stigma associated with that car is just too much to handle.

What is the problem with the Golf R? Here, that stigma is for STI/Evo owners. I know - I had one. The perception is that VWs are much more respectable compared to the Japanese counterparts.

That's the problem of the people that think so. If I like the car, it woudn't be a problem for me what others think of it.
