Anyone owned a Toyota FJ?

How did you like these cars? I'm looking for something to compliment the Turbo as a total utility vehicle. It's down to an FJ and a Jeep but I've had a Jeep before and as much as I like it I'm tempted to try something new.

I preffer FJ over a jeep. I've driven jeeps several times and in comparison to the FJ...I can tell you the FJ is much more solid ride. I live in pennsylvania and in the winter time the FJ was unstoppable. The 4x4 is very easy to engage. The inside is made with roughness in mind unlike the jeep which leans towards luxury. The floor mats in an FJ are big, think and all rubber so if you have spills inside the cabin its no big deal. The FJ has this cool suacide door behind the regular doors so people can get in the back. The doors on a jeep or just these regular doors which if I think are just blah. All the buttons inside the FJ huge and clearly displayed not small and dinky like on a Jeep. In addition, the FJ has 3 wipers on the front which I've never seen on another car. I think the FJ is an affordable Hummer.....It kinda has the looks of a Hummer but not quite. I would go for it if I were in your spot.

Thanks for your input! I need to go and drive one really. I've driven a Wrangler approximately 30K miles I need some mileage in an FJ. There is an insane black one on Ebay right now.

Ben. I know Thomas (tblackj) had one for quite a while and liked it. Didn't Mark (controlit) have one too?

The black one on ebay is a beast. I can see that its a higher model than the one I was talkinging about and its a manual trans. (I've only driven an automatic FJ) But still its a BEAST.....Heck yeah.

Mark has told me in the past that he LOVES his FJ.

I'm sure he'll be stopping by here.

I thought jamie bought his second one for his daughter.

Mark recently posted about some dodgy breaking hes experienced on the FJ.

But AJ credited it with saving his life.
