I towed a 360 Ferrari that wore the piston into the rotor, at least you caught this. People do not understand that if you take care of the little things it save you money in the long run.

I was helping one of my buddies swap out his brake pads tonight on his '92 Honda Accord. The minimum wear thickness is 12mm. His were at 4mm...

Well, it's almost 11PM here, we both have to leave for work around 5AM and so far we've gotten one wheel off and swapped out the pads but the new pads are too thick for the piston to slide back into place so we've been running around trying to find a store that's still open that sells c-clamps. No luck so far so I'm pretty sure my buddy will be a bit late to work tomorrow.

You could crack the bleed valve to get the pistons to retract as long as you are willing to bleed them when you are done.

C clamps would be much easier though!

If you have a 24 hour auto parts store they usually rent brake tools.

Sweet! Did you check the rotors for thickness?

I did that once too, on the Lemons car:

^^^^Gobbles Jr.. Oh, and I'm glad you got new pads before running into any serious trouble. I don't even know where to begin with changing such things.
^Training?

Yeah, rotors are good. Once I saw the pad I was really worried about the rotor face, but no damage. Glad I stopped driving it when I did.
