Teamspeed I need to hear your thoughts! RWD + Snow + NYC =?

So I wanted to start a thread to get some opinions from you all. It is snowing here in NYC and i live in Brooklyn, thankfully school was closed but I have no way to get to work (cant take public transportation to do my work) or do anything else for that matter because I drive a CLS55(RWD and bridgestone potenzas). My car with even the small amount of snow cannot drive in this weather and renders me useless whenever the weather acts up. My car is my DD and i do not have another car that is AWD, are any of you in the same shoes, and what do you do when your car cant drive in the weather, do we sell out and buy SUV's? What if we don't have/ can't afford AWD sports cars such as the 911 turbo/ GT-R/ R8?

Opinions, Thoughts, Suggestions...Thanks

It doesn't matter if you're driving the biggest, stonkingest 4x4 on the planet, if you have summer performance tires on it, that AWD doesn't help you turn or stop.

Snow tires for sure. Heck, I've gotten by all winter up here in MN with some good all season tires!

Snow tires. Wife's FX35 is useless in any snow with the summer tires. Put Blizzaks on it and it's a snow monster.

The hot ticket: MB w211 E500 4Matic wagon + 6.0L Steve Jones conversion (he was THE RENNtech engine builder for 20 years, BMW / M before that) + trans. upgrade + supercharger, headers, and exhaust + winter tires = what you need.
