Hey guys, as some of you may know I am a senior in high school getting ready to head off to college. I currently have a 2008 Honda Civic Si Mugen as you can see in my signature, and i love that car. However, my dad just made me a deal that I cannot refuse. I am looking to sell my car and buy a car for less than I sell my car for. I believe I can sell my car for $23-25k and am looking to buy something cheaper than $18k. I would like a car that can handle the snow and is a manual transmission. Any good ideas? The best car I have come across so far is an Audi A4. Any comments/thoughts would be awesome!

I would love to do that, but right now things are a little tight financially and if I can sell my car in the 20's and buy a car in the teens I could pocket a little bit of spending money for college. Although, I don't want to buy anything crappy, I just want a nice reliable car for college that is fun to drive too.

You should be able to pick up a very nice B6 A4 in your price range.

 

Yeah, I think the Audi is what I want but my dad keeps saying just go with the cheapest thing you could handle driving for 4 years. My biggest thing though is a manual transmission because I don't think I could survive 4 years driving an automatic. Also, I want something a little sporty and in my price range I feel like the A4 is the only thing that meets all of the things I am looking for. Anyone else any ideas?

 

If that's the case, do what Josh said and get an older Civic. It'll be reliable and dirt-cheap to run. Besides, college girls don't care what you drive - they care how good your weed is.

 

For that price and what you want I'd get a B5 S4... but maybe an Audi Allroad is more practical?

 

I'd go the way of the Subie if you're planning on snow. Audi parts are bank. Subies are cheaper to keep goin. Find a nice secondhand WRX.

 

id spend 4-6k on an old jeep with a good top, heat, air and when its all over, you will be able to get most if not all of your money back.

unless you have to drive distance that is.

last year i picked up a good 04 ex civic with 72k for 6g's, which is the other way id go...
