Vintage beauties - 30's cars *Imageheavy*

So, Jay Leno was on Top Gear. So after watching that, I tuned in to his website, Jaylenosgarage.com, and was riveted by the features on old Duesenbergs and Bugattis. So, I started looking at thirties' cars, and I though I'd just share some of them with ya. Credit does, of course, go to the photogs. Anyone want anything taken down, just say so.

First off, Duesenbergs:

This one is called The Twenty Grand Duesenberg, because it cost the first owner 20,000 dollars - in 1933.

The photos of these two cars I got frem here:Duesenberg the Mightiest American Motor Car, by Kid Deuce on Flickr

A 1937 JN Berline. More odd than beautiful, but, in here anyway.

Another JN. Apparently, this one was once owned by Clark Gable.

A '33 J, with Bohman & Schwartz Convertible Coupe coachwork.

Auburns:

A '35 851 'Boattail' Speedster.

Packards:

A 1933 1001 Coupe Roadster.

Various other beauties.
1930 Cadillac 452 V16 Convertible Coupe.

1937 Hispano-Suiza Break De Chasse, by Franay.

1930 Rolls Royce Phantom II Brewster Town Car.

1938 Maybach DS 8 Zeppelin Sport-Cabriolet.

1937 Delahaye 135 MS Figoni & Falaschi Cabriolet. Pebble Beach winner in '00.

Two Talbot-Lago 'Teardrops': A T150 on the right, and a T23 on the left.

1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic. Three built, two surviving. This one won Pebble Beach in 2003.

And finally, 2002's Pebble Beach winner, an incredibly beautiful - that's what I think, anyway - Voisin C-25 ETS Saliot Roadster from 1934.

Hope you enjoy

I like Jay's Packard that was once owned by Phil Hill. The Beverly Coupe Duesy is badass too!

Now, this is how a car should look.

I'd take any one of these over a stable of newer, faster cars anyday.

I've seen several of these cars for real. I actually recognize the Meadowbrook Concours in one of those pics.

Saying they are gorgeous is a wild understatement. The size, the presence, the elegance, the lack of compromise ... these cars are just astonishing.

One that I would love to actually see is a Bucciali TAV ... hot damn does it look gangsta!

Man, I love all these badass old school royalty-mobiles. I'm getting all hot and bothered just thinking about how rad the Pebble Beach Concours is going to be this year. Hopefully I'll have a lot of pics to contribute to this thread after this coming weekend...

/\ Nice! That old cigarette lorry is fantastic! The three Bugattis as well, and the Cord, and the Airflow, and....
I suppose this also means that you're pushed back to second place on the "South African dudes with way too many cars" list...

That Bucciali is insane! If the Devil drove in the thirties, that was his car.

Alzilla: You must bring back many pictures. This is your task.

And, in the Team Speed spirit of More, more, more!:
1938 Hispano-Suiza H6C Dubonnet Xenia:

Not from the thirties, but from the late twenties: Alfa Romeo P2 leaking oil.

A Hispano-Suiza H6B, with Erdmann & Rossi coachwork. 1928.

A 1933 Lincoln Model KA Convertible Coupe.

All those images with the vehicle names on the bottom, I lifted from this gentleman on flickr: sjb4photos-catching up. Give his portfolio a look, quite a lot of nice motors in there.
