In the late twenties 3 Bugattis were imported to Switzerland. Two of the Bugattis were collected by their customers und import duties was paid. In 1937 when for the remaining one, T22 Brescia Modifiée import taxes were not paid. The car was thrown in the Lago Maggiore in 1937 as the owner was not prepared to pay the Swiss taxes; the car was not worth it. This inevitably meant that he had to have it destroyed so he decided to have it trown in the lake. It was discovered by divers in 1967 and known in Bugatti circles for years.
It was dug up on sunday 12 July 2009 with the intent to sell it for charity purposes.
Bugatti T22 Brescia s/n 2461 was delivered on April 11 1925 to Nancyand sold on 25 April 1925 to Chevre. It is now for sale by Fondazione Damiano Tamagni.

I think now it's worth more for the story than the actual car... It'd be a pretty cool centerpiece in someone's front entryway or a museum though!
