Actually, I'm pretty sure those are the air cylinders for the car's aftermarket air shocks/hydraulics. I doubt they'd fit in the trunk so the owner took another route.
+1 Those are air cylinders for hydraulics. probably had no room in the trunk, cuz he got the boom in there.

They're compressed air tanks for air-ride suspension.
I had them in my old truck...
