V70r

Anyone run one of these? How are they? How do they handle? How's fuel economy?

And most important, how are they at towing? I'm looking for funner, less fuelish motorcycle hauler alternative to a pickup. I'm looking at the 2004ish generation.

Weird choice considering your requirements imo.

Great choice! As far as cheap, but fun wagons go, they're hard to beat, imo. I can't comment on towing capabilities but they're pretty badass!

A guy I work with loves his. He drives it everyday and can't say enough good things about it... He also has a couple Ferraris, a Jag convertible, etc. so it's not like he thinks safe and sound is "high performance".

Dave Letterman and Paul Newman dropped V-8's into Volvo Wagons years ago. Very nice cars. I would consider an E39 Wagon for towing a motorcycle. I've read about several European BMW owners that tow w/M5's; 540's and 528's.

It's not TS correct but the Ridgeline is also an option though I love the a good, understated fast wagon!

No manual on the BMW or I'd consider it. I think the Volvo has a much higher tow rating.

I hate trucks, and it would double as a DD. Having to go way around back to park the 5600lb SUV every time I step out for takeout food gets old fast. So does 12.5mpg. But yeah, hauling a motorcycle in a truck is a brazillian times easier than fiddling with trailers.

What's wrong with using the Cayman as a DD and to get your food?

Did you get rid of it or something?

If you're going to tow, why mess around? Look into a preowned Cayenne S or X5.
