With winter approaching and a humid summer just passed, it was time to consider heating/cooling options. I have a very cerebral AC/Heating guy who thought over many options including slaving off the existing home AC/heating. In the end, he found a very elegant solution utilizing the space above the closets on one end of the garage.

Here are some pics of the install....stand alone heating/cooling with a high efficiency furnace (even qualifies for the Obama tax credit )

Access door....

simple thermostat for now...will place one with timers etc later

All snug and warm now

That'll be great for those 20 degree mornings. It's dipping into the 30s here tonight.

Are you still wanting a lift?

Yes, definitely need a lift or two until addition is built. Need to find a local outfit that sells lifts and does the installs.

The heated garage is definitely the way to go. You will love it in the mornings and especially if you like being out in the garage during the winter. You are doing us Nashville folks well Jas. Thanks for sharing!
