I believe that John Lingenfelter started LPE, but Ken has recently taken it over. I think they might be cousins....Not quite sure. Ken had other successful businesses throughout his life.

3rd time this has been posted on TS :P
Each time, it gets more "viral"
Larry, we'll get you there next time...
You can view one of the original threads on the collection on Ferrarichat's Michigan Region
I'll be happy to answer most any question regarding the collection.
First I'll answer the LPE question, the owner does have about 8 Lingenfelter Perofrmance Engineering cars. 3 of them are being 'massaged' as we speak... and should show up in the periodicals in a few months.

Nice collection.
This man has every car I have ever drooled over in a magazine.WOW! I am in envy. When I see Jay Lenos collection and wonder what Ron Pratt has under his roof. I think the Sultan has topped them all. WoW! Send me an invite.

While he certainly has some nice rides I think I'd take Ron Pratts Shelby collection. Lots of 1 of 1 cars including the SuperSnake.
One of the few Shelby Daytonas is selling this Friday. I'm certain he will be bidding serious nickel on it.

I had no idea a relative of his had taken the company over. That's great that someone inside the family stepped up and took over.

Kenneth Lingenfelter
CEO, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering
Brighton, Michigan
Kenneth Lingenfelter started his career in the title insurance business as a teenager with the Burton Abstract & Title Company in Detroit Michigan. Through dedication and commitment he worked his way up from a delivery position to manager of a small office. Shortly thereafter the company was sold to a casualty insurance company. Therefore, at the age of 23, Lingenfelter decided it was time to start his own company and began the work of establishing Metropolitan Title Company which grew over the years by aggressive start up operations and acquisitions in a number of states including Michigan.
This entrepreneurial success earned Lingenfelter recognition in 1994 when he was named the Entrepreneur of the Year in Financial Services for the State of Michigan, an award sponsored by Crain’s Detroit Business, Ernst & Young and INC. Magazine. Metropolitan Title Insurance continued to grow through the 1990’s and was recognized as the largest most progressive title agency in the United States having expanded into 10 states with 150 offices and annual sales of 160 million. While leading Metropolitan Title Insurance, Lingenfelter served as President of the MLTA, and The National Title Alliance as well as the Board of Governors for the ALTA and a board member of RESPRO and TAVMA. In 2003 Lingenfelter sold Metropolitan Insurance to the largest title insurance underwriter in the country and he became a part of First American Corporation.
Now a proud father of a son and triplet daughters, Lingenfelter, having completed the terms of his contract with First American, has embarked on a new career as owner of Metropolitan Motor Sports and the Lingenfelter Collection.
These companies buy and sell collector cars and manage a collection of 125 vehicles consisting of muscle cars, Corvettes and exotic European cars. In addition, Lingenfelter has recently purchased Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, a company once owned by a distant relative of his, John Lingenfelter the legendary drag racer and engine builder. The company which can be found at www.lingenfelter.com, offers engine building, engine and chassis tuning components and installation as well as a number of prototype preparation and development services.
