Dumb question about new mac keyboard

Dumb question about new mac keyboard

Ok, not really that new, but the new aluminum one. We just got one for our iMac at home and can't figure out how to access the buttons on the top f-Keys like volume, brightness, etc. Command+* doesn't work. Nor does control or alt.

Function button. It's above the delete button

That doesn't work man. Like if I did fn+f12, it just does F12. Think the Function button is broken?

Havwe you tried checking under 'system pref'/'keyboard'?
I've never used thise keys in that way, doesn't work with the f12 key for me either..

edit: go to 'keyboard' under system pref and check in the box about f12 there and voilá!
