video docking station for ipod touch
My wife has a nano, i've never used it...I have no ipod, so I'm very uninformed about these things. However my 15 mo old daughter's first flight is coming up next month, and I think I want to buy an ipod touch (16gb) so that we can download shows/movies to keep her entertained on the airplane. First question, is the Touch a good choice? Or go with a Classic? According to the apple site both will play videos, which is the primary purpose.
Secondly, and the primary question, I want to get a docking station that has a larger viewing screen to play the ipod on. Does anyone have an opinion on which one to buy? It has to be relatively durable, any thoughts?

for your daughter, just get a cheap dvd player. it's kind of a pain to have to change discs, but they will be a lot more durable and you won't feel as bad if dump a cup of apple juice on it.
the dvd player that i have for my 2 year old daughter also doubles as in car entertainment as it has a velcro strap so you can attach it to the back of a headrest.

This is only my second post to the board so bear with me.
As a owner of a iphone/ipod photo & classic I have to say the best bang for your buck would be the 80GB ipod Classic. Quick Pro/Con list below:
Ipod Classic 80 GB
+ Roughly 20,0000 songs (so Apple says)
+ $250
+ Quite a fair amount of accessories
+ Improved screen and casing
+ Lots of room (Data wise)
- Older platform
- No Internet capability
Ipod Touch 16GB
+ New Platform
+ Browser access
- Only with a wireless access point
+ Screen size over other mp3 players
- IMO, the price $400 (c'mon Apple, the 3g iphone is only $200)
- Battery Life
Anywho, I would take her to the store and let her see which she likes best, both platforms have different user interfaces, so they will appeal differently. At least you can go armed with this knowledge, haha. (Hoped this helped somewhat.)
