Camcorder vs. DSLR?

Hey I want to buy a camcorder for making small promotion videos of events I do here in Shanghai.
I want to spent around 800$ and don't have any knowledge of videocams what so ever. I do how ever owned a few D-SLR and heard their video modes got much better.

What would you buy at the moment?
All I need is a simple Camera, which is easy to use, does very good videos, can be connected to a mic as well as to a light for taking videos at partys and so on.
Hope someone here can help me out, thanks a lot!

At $800 I think your better off with a camcorder...
Use YouTube to gage different quality vids from camcorders and DSLR
