all depends on what kind of money you want to spend because sky is the limit when it comes to back yard bbq are you doing a stand alone or built in? Broil King are excellent, Vermont Casting, Weber and Costco and Lowe's carry good ones as well, make sure you get a searing burner for the ultimate steaks.

DCS 36 Inch Natural Gas Grill BGB36BQARN On Cart. Best BBQ made. Will last a lifetime. Excellent Quality. We use ours 4-5 a week for the past 5 years. Still works like new. Just needs to be cleaned internally ~ every 6 months. When exterior is washed it looks new. First class stainless steel

I don't know much about grills but fathers day is coming and I would like to get my dad a nice new grill. Can I get a nice stand alone grill for like $4-500 bucks??

Damn nice grill! I don't know if I can put gas and "best" in the same sentence, but none the less that thing is pretty pimped out!

Check out the webber performer... Runs 350, is charcoal but has a gas igniter for quicker burn.... I am biased as I believe nothing taste better than something cooked over lumped charcoal.

I here ya...but this thing has (3) 25000 BTU burners and when you are doing steak the hotter the better. Haven't had charcoal in years but I do remember the great smell growing up and my Dad lighting up the charcoal.

Ya that is bad a..! If I had to got gas, that would be the winner for sure... The thing I love about the egg that most charcoal bbq's have a hard tome doing is getting up to high heat (900+) and being able to hold that temp... Below is high heat, cast iron grates and quick sear... Was my first time, and it came out amazing.... Tweak here and there has only made them better!
