Me too, need suggestions. I'm looking at the Fanatec GT2 Clubsport package ($500), I want to play from my recliner, no table, do I need the stand or just put it in my lap? Are wheels worth the money? How about that 'U' shaped wireless "wheel" from microsoft? I hate the regular controllers.

Please help a newbie.

Just bought Forza4 today, once I have some "skilz" as my kid likes to say (I don't) then I will get on live and join you guys.

 

definitely need a stand or a table, you will be so frustrated if you try and have it in your lap.

wheels are great, just need to get the correct settings and take the time to get use to it

the u shaped wheel seemed pretty neat, but i only tried the demo they had in the store

I pm'ed BuzzedHornet about this but I will post it again. I have the GT2 wheel and pedals. I use a table for the wheel (the wheel can adjust to any size table strongly and won't move), the pedals are pretty heavy and stick to my floor (carpet) very well, they move slighty when I heel/toe.

I played alot of Forza with the contoller, got really good with it. I love drifting and taking fast coners etc. It's extremely hard to do any of this stuff (drifting, taking fast coners, etc) with the wheel and pedals. I have to take turns at 20 mph or else I spin out. Given the wheel has alot of different settings, I have yet to find a setting to where I can drive as fast as I could with the controller.

You definitely want the wheel stand if you get the Fanatec. I have the GT2 Clubsport package and it's a nice setup. Hoping to get the chair one day too.

As for the Porsches, EA puled the license shortly before the game was released.... bastards.

 

Just a reminder for all you new guys...before you go and blow a ton of money on mods for your cars, remember that you get free mods for any car under a manufacturer of which you have reached Level 4 affinity or higher.

Definitely sucks with no Porsches but you get adjusted to it. Ferrari and bmw have taken over in my garage
