::The Official Android Thread::
I know more and more of you are switching to Android phones. I am a recent victim myself. Loving it thus far, coming from previous experiences with WinMo 5/6, iPhone, BBerry. Anyway, thought I would start this thread to help all of us out. Whether it be posting questions, favorite apps, themes/screenshots etc., I think it will only help users get more out of their phones.
I have downloaded quite a few apps since I got my phone a couple of weeks ago, from banking to news to games, but only recently turned to themes/skins. Here is my current homescreen, which I worked on while being sick this weekend with some inspiration from the xda forum:

I am running Launcherpro Plus which replaces the HTC Sense style launcher I had, and lets me do a 5-app dock. LPP lets you replace docks and icons like the ones I have (some icons come with it, others from here - LauncherPro Icons | Custom Android app icons for the awesome LauncherPro home screen replacement). I would say start with widgets first and see if you can get it where you like it. Otherwise play with LPP or ADW launcher (which is even more skinable, but I didn't like it as much).
The rest of what you see on my screen is comprised of widgets:
- BattStatt (battery level)
- Beautiful Widgets (weather)
- Simi Clock (time/date)
- OneSeven (day of week ticker)
Also did my lockscreen:
Widget Locker lets you put widgets and custom sliders on your lock screen.

^^ I think the Droid 2 will address those concerns for you. The keyboard layout is slightly different, but for all intents and purposes its a hopped up Droid 1. VZW also has the global Droid 2 out which allows for international roaming. The other option you may consider is the Droid Pro, which is the portrait layout, non-slider phone. Personal preference will guide that decision, spec wise they are pretty much identical.

That is the mobile web version that BlueStrike made for iPhone, bb, etc. As far as I know, the webkit browser (default) will default to the mobile version with no option to revert to standard. You can try other browsers like Skyfire/Dolphin HD that will give you the full version. For mobile use, however, the 'funny' format loads much faster.

I don't get emails yet so excuse me if I don't answer quickly. Too much going on to learn much yet. My emails are off my office desktop so I will get those tomorrow. Phone is cool but I've never had a Droid before so I don't have a good comparison.
I hate this mobile ts web deal you say bluestrike put together for sure. Slower or not I can't quote people or multiples. No user cup option that I can see. Its just a quick reference tool that will keep me from using it much.
