RC Boating - Looking for some advice
The girlfriend of a good friend of mine called me the other day looking for some advice on buying him a RC boat as a surprise gift.
This friend of mine LOVES his toys, and usually wants the best and most extreme of everything he buys, so she wants to get him a seriously bad-ass RC boat. I know him well enough to know that he wont be happy with an electric boat, not matter how fast and low maintenance they are. He is definitely a nitro guy.
Any help and/or advice of which RTR boats to look at and which websites to visit would be much appreciated.

I've got one and it rocks. The gas powered boats require a lot of love and attention on Salt Water LOL. Should be golden on a pond.
I honestly don't know the model I have. It's been a few years. It looks like the 84" classic but it's only 52-54" I believe. Unless they are a major hobby guy get the Ready to Run version. They still take some prep. Still need some paint but will not have to deal with major stuff.
Also the Radio is VERY VERY important. Make sure she spends the Extra $$$$ to get a real one. Not the crap that's cheap. You don't want your boat heading off into the sunset with no remote connection. I've got a radio for my trucks and boat that will work from 1 mile (well).

Check these RC boat engines out. From what i've been able to gather, these are among the best in the industry. I can only imagine the sound these make, especially the 140cc 4 cyl. motor, with 28hp!!!!!
